Week 1 at home: Meeting Grandma and making new friends

You had a lot of visitors your first week home.  Your grandma arrived on Saturday June 16 and came to visit on Sunday.  She brought with her your adoring cousins ACR, EVR, and KAR who loved getting a chance to hold you for the first time.  Our neighbors Helen Yeni-Komshian and her daughters MR and SR stopped by.  And our friend Al Cho was here for a reunion @ Stanford (from Philadelphia) so he stopped by as well.  And our local friends Chris and Shona Blizzard brought us dinner which was awesome.

You’ve been sleeping pretty well except for a couple of nights.  I attribute those disruptions to what I ate (garbanzo beans) but who knows?  You were up Friday night (June 15) for a long time crying and kicking your legs which are signs of gas.  It was a loooong night.

On Tuesday (June 19), we had a bit of a scare too: your breathing was arrhythmic while you slept: 3 regular breaths then a series of short breaths and then a long pause during which you didn’t breath (4-9 counts) so we went in to see the pediatrician.  I was a bit nervous during the drive over as your Auntie Daesman’s nephew had had breathing issues and ended up being diagnosed with a collapsed lung when he was 3 or 4 weeks old.  Turns out yours was a natural part of active sleep which is 50% of baby’s sleep time.  Phew.  What a relief!

Here’s one of my favorite moments: you joining in story time for the first time.
